Communications

Building a connected and respectful community

Mutual respect and open communication form the foundation of our school culture at CIS, creating a collaborative, understanding, and welcoming environment where everyone feels safe and valued.

Connect through apps, platforms and meetings. Parents receive the CIS News, our parent newsletter, as well as weekly updates from their child’s principal. Teachers in our Early Years Program and Elementary School share frequent learning updates via Seesaw. Students in Middle School and High School utilize Google Classroom.

All families are invited to Parent-Teacher Conferences, workshops, information sessions and Learning Celebrations throughout the school year. The CIS School Council meets every second month. We have dedicated translator-interpreters on staff.

CIS is continuing to improve the apps and online tools available to families. We will implement iSAMS, enhanced by iParent and iStudent, in August 2025. This will complement our use of Seesaw and Google Classroom.

RESPECTFUL CONDUCT

It is a shared responsibility of all members of the CIS school community to work in partnership and to demonstrate respectful behaviour. All members of the school community have a duty to ensure that students, parents and staff feel safe and welcome at school. We treat each other with respect and refrain from using rude language or any form of intimidating behaviour. This means we all commit to making calm, polite requests for support, and we table concerns in a constructive manner.

CIS will not tolerate aggressive or threatening behaviour towards anyone in the school community. We reserve the right to deny entry to campuses as a result of such behaviour.

If parents feel they have been treated disrespectfully, they are asked to contact the Head of School. Likewise, CIS staff have the right to be treated fairly and with dignity and respect at all times. They are also asked to report disrespectful behavior.
