School Profile

CIS is proud to be accredited by the Ministry of Education of the province of Alberta, Canada. CIS received approval from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Kingdom of Cambodia to operate as an educational institution in August 2012. The LabelFrancÉducation seal is granted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. CIS became the first school in Cambodia to receive it when it was awarded in recognition of our French Bilingual Program in 2019.

CIS is a member of the Council of International Schools. This means that we have demonstrated our commitment to providing students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens and to provide high quality international education.

CIS currently delivers the IB Diploma Programme as an IB World School. CIS is a Candidate School for the IB Primary Years Programme and is pursuing authorization. CIS shares a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that CIS believes is important for our students.

Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
